CCRoms is Dead and has been for a while now. just making an official post.
This site won't go anywhere for a while yet, and all of the information on this site will remain available, though it is a bit dated, for the time being.
Welcome to the final release of Froyo, by the CCRoms team, which means you guessed it, we're switching gears to Gingerbread after this release. With this release we managed to get the Evo/Emerald going as intended(sorry for the wait.) The Galaxy S style pulldown power widget has been implemented in this release as well. Gem settings have been completely re-written as well, to provide a more intuitive and easier to understand interface for everyone, and of course bug fixes abound.

Note:
Droid X users, at this point there is nothign more we can find to do to improve battery life. When/If the battery starts to drain fast, gets sluggish, or gets hot, reboot the phone this will put the race condition causing all of these problems back to sleep, unfortunately there is no way to put the process back to sleep once it wakes up and if you kill the process kernel panics and the phone reboots anyway.
What a crazy 3 months it has been, with life in general getting in the way of development, but it's over and here is a release for everyone!
For the full list of changes please see the changelog at http://bit.ly/aH0ioL.
*Please note*
All Google apps that are available for download from the market will no longer be included in the CCRoms Google apps package, to facilitate updating the apps the way Google intends.
Also this release is FROYO, Gingerbread will most likely be our next release with this gem version's features ported to AOSP Gingerbread.
The Main Highlights:
Obsidian for the Droid X is now a fully stable build, some minor bugs might still exist, but otherwise it is rock solid.
Tanzanite for the Droid 2 is also stable build, since it is so close to the Droid X.
Emerald for the HTC Evo is also stable for all pre-2.10 and 2.02 hboot updates.
Sapphire is just as stable as ever.
Ruby has been updated to the Miui ril for better connectivity and is more stable than ever.
That's right we are now on 5 phones, Thanks for all of your support everyone!
Now for the important part, Obsidian 2.0, Ruby 2.0, Sapphire 2.0, Tanzanite 2.0 are released!
All Downloads are available under the downloads section on our wiki: http://wiki.ccroms.net
Be sure to read the wiki pages fully for known issues and install instructions for certain roms.
NOTE: Emerald has been having some kernel issues and 2.0 will be delayed slightly.
Ok, guys here is the scoop. After Meeting up last night and talking over a few things, we are shooting for a release by Thanksgiving! The full list of features has not been ironed out so there is no list yet so keep your eye on the changelog. I will do my best to list the features here as they become known to me.
I will confirm the builds though that will be released and their likely stability.
Obsidian(Droid X) - most likely an unstable build that will receive more work as time progresses
Tanzanite(Droid 2) - most likely in the same condition as Obsidian
Emerald(Evo) - mostly stable with a few bugs(releasing for people to test)
Ruby(Incredible) - many bug fixes added stability
Sapphire(Droid 1) - I don't think this could become more stable
I will update this post as more decisions are made.
Sniffle 11/3/10
Yeah, I'm almost positive everyone in this forum has wondered that in the past 2 weeks, so I wanted to just give a heads up to everyone on where things stand! >.>
First of all, I have not halted development indefinitely, basically I have just been swamped with school and personal stuff for the past few weeks, some of which couldn't be helped, some of which was my own laziness *sigh*.
Basically I took a week off at the end of September because it was my birthday, and the Droid X crap was driving me out of my mind.
About half-way through my birthday week, I decided against my better judgement to purchase the game, Minecraft, which became addicting as hell >.>
Couple that with the fact that the week after my week off I had a week and a half of midterms (still in college, *sigh*), and now here I am finally feeling like I might be ready to get back to work on some Android stuff
As for any progress made on the GEM series, it's been relatively slow over these last few weeks, but I appreciate everyone waiting it out! I'll do my best to get some cool stuff out to you!
Here's some stuff I have on my todo list:
1.) continue work on obsidian, but i won't be making it the ONLY thing i'm doing anymore, as sapphire/ruby need some lovin too
2.) scriptybox app, it's about time for it i think
3.) CM settings widget in some way or another
4.) .... idk, guess i'll have to look at that list Tanknspank put together on DF
Anyways, time to catch up on all I've missed

Obsidian for the Droid X is nearing completion. Here are a few videos of the progress update. Once the major bugs are fixed we have discussed opening Obsidian to the public as Open-Alpha. We also have an Alpha build of Emerald for the HTC EVO that needs to be tested heavily as we do not have the device ourselves. If you would like to test it please see the download links at the top of the page.

Obsidian is our previously secret project for making a rom for the Droid X. With this proof of concept we hope to be able to ask our friends and Droid X hopefuls to help us get a Droid X to develop on. We have done this before, and with the coming release of Ruby we are making good on our promise that was previously made to produce a rom on a new device. So we are once again asking, help us get a Droid X so that we can produce a rom for the Droid X, and hopefully we will be the first!
Any amount no matter how small is welcome and appreciated! Thank you in advance! Donate Link Specifically for the Droid X
Proof of concept video below:
This release is HUGE! Sapphire has hit 1.0! Everyone is excited including us, with this release we have several announcements to make.
First off, Sapphire 1.0, with Verizon's release of the official OTA update we are proud to announce our 1.0.0 release. Many of you have been looking foreward to it for a while! A few features people will like are that Gem Settings have been moved to the actual settings screen instead of it being it's own app,we have added kmob's lockscreen music controls, we've also modified the previous volume controls(when screen is off) so that when music was playing it will now skip tracks on long-press and work accross all music players, including Pandora and Slacker Radio. Bug fixes include ##program menu, 50% signal loss bug, wifi signal loss issue.
Please see the change log for a full list of changes.
I would also like to officially announce the addition of BGill to the ccroms team as the master of themes, or "The Jeweler" as he has come to call himself. He needs no introduction as you all know who he is. Though i will say he worked all last night to port themes for the 1.0.0 release so once he wakes up we should have several themes ready to go for everyone.
See main downloads page or CVPCS - Droid Forums for a full list of available themes
Lastly, we are also currently in a donation drive. As many of you know we are trying to expand our device coverage to the HTC Incredible to produce a rom named Ruby, which will be Sapphire for the Incredible. For more information on this please see the link below or donate using the link at the top of the page.
Droid Forums - Will work for Incredible - Ruby
enjoy everyone!
